Backup and Recovery: AS400

If you intend to restore the entire system from a full-system backup tape you can IPL from the tape –

Gather inventory for AS400/ I-series

In I-series navigator select Software Inventory for desired endpoint system (File à Inventory à collect) for following objects:hw, sw, fixes etc…Once done for desired endpoint system (File à Inventory à export) to export csv file to your desktop.
